Avoid errors before they occur - welding tests, prototype production, employee training
Which welding process best suits my application? How do I choose the parameters so that my processes run optimally? Does it work as well in practice as in theory? Is the quality of my welded joints right? If you have these or other technical welding questions, DALEX Schweißmaschinen GmbH is the ideal partner at your side. At the in-house Technology Centre (T-Center) in Wissen (Germany), experts advise and support users with coordinated test series, the production of prototypes, modern measuring technology and staff training.
A good product starts with an idea. It is followed by planning, concept, design and construction. At this point at the latest, the question of production methods becomes increasingly important: How can I manufacture my product economically and with good quality - from the prototype to series production? DALEX has the answer with its ultra-modern Technology Centre, the perfect basis for testing and implementing welding solutions and innovations.
For over 100 years, DALEX Schweißmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG has been an expert in resistance welding. The company became known for its high-quality systems for spot welding, projection welding, roll seam welding, foil seam welding and grid welding. Today, the long-established company from Wissen (Germany) presents itself as a competent system solution provider for complex production cells. DALEX bundles these wide-ranging skills in the T-Center, where it presents advances in welding technology and its advantages and enables users to gain experience. This means that users can see for themselves the solutions that work, not only in theory but also in everyday production practice. Here, the experienced welding specialists will provide insights into the versatility of resistance welding technology.
A wide range of possibilities ensure the optimum result
"In our modern technology centre we can carry out various welding tasks realistically in advance and at short notice and determine the optimum process parameters. Test and prototype welding can be carried out under realistic conditions. This ensures optimum transferability to production and eliminates errors before they occur. The T-Center is the perfect complement to our welding technology consulting services," says Georg Lichtenberg, managing director of DALEX Schweißmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG.
DALEX has equipped the T-Center with a wide range of production facilities so that the best welding process for the application in question can be demonstrated, not least by means of samples. There are welding guns connected ready for operation as well as spot, projection and roller seam welding machines in AC, medium frequency and KE technology. The machines are equipped with a wide variety of welding control systems from well-known manufacturers. In this way, the differences can be demonstrated and the best system for the task and the appropriate machine configuration can be selected.
This excellent equipment, together with the flexibility and expertise of the DALEX team, means that initial samples and prototypes can be welded and small series can be produced. "Users can rent our systems for this purpose so that they can be used by your employees in our T-Center. Alternatively, we can also hire out our machines to the customer's site by arrangement," adds Georg Lichtenberg.
In addition, the T-Center offers the advantage of creating improvised welding tools specifically for the welding task and component geometry in order to achieve an optimum welding result with these auxiliary welding tools. Georg Lichtenberg: "Our welding experts can find a solution for almost any welding task. Because innovative solutions are created in an innovative environment, such as our T-Center".
Precise measurement ensures highest quality
DALEX uses a special measurement PC, which can also be used as a transient recorder, to analyse the systems and welding processes. The high-resolution measurement of force, current, voltage and displacement curves guarantees the precision of the process. It is also possible to search for faults on the basis of different system signals, especially in fully and partially automated processes, in order to finally rectify them. For further analyses for optimisation, the customer-specific analogue and digital signals are also recorded.
"In addition, we can metallographically examine and prove the quality of the welded joints by using the latest measuring and microsectional image technology. We use special equipment for visualization," says Georg Lichtenberg. DALEX works with a local partner for the necessary production of the macrosections and microsections on steel and non-ferrous metals in order to achieve short distances and therefore fast reaction times.
Because the complex automation systems that DALEX develops and builds for its customers are usually designed for high production speeds that the human eye can hardly follow, the welding experts have modern high-frequency video systems for diagnosis, commissioning and function monitoring of the fast movements. This enables DALEX to determine downtimes in motion sequences and thus reduce cycle times. Travel times of individual axes in multiple systems are optimally coordinated and critical movements are detected.
Welding technology in theory and practice
Practical training courses to gain specialist knowledge, learn about innovations and be able to operate your own machine with the optimum settings round off the advantages of the Technology Center. Whether in the DALEX T-Center on the machines that are ready for operation or on site on existing systems - DALEX trains its customers' employees competently on the machines and on the respective applications. This ensures quality standards in production and pays off in everyday production.
Georg Lichtenberg: "With the Technology Centre and the know-how of our welding specialists, we offer users a wide range of opportunities to get a practical idea of welding applications and so optimise their own production economically and in terms of time. In this way, we not only provide our customers with the best possible support, but have also made an important investment for the future, with which we will strengthen our competitiveness in the long term. The innovations and ideas that will continue to make DALEX one of the leading manufacturers in welding technology in the future will come from the Technology Centre".
